Sturgeon are notorious scent feeders, and no one offers a better selection of proven attractants than Pro-Cure. All four styles of our scents have proven effective, including Super Gel, Bait Oils, Heavy Liquids and Bait Sauces. We've had so many sturgeon guides call us to tell us that adding the Pro-Cure scents on a tough day really saved them, and that all of their fish came by adding the Pro-Cure scents. We also did extensive testing on the UV enhanced Pro-Cure scents versus the same Pro-Cure scents without UV, and much to our surprise the sturgeon found and consistently preferred the UV enhanced scents. Since the smells of the scents are exactly the same, our only conclusion was that the sturgeon see the UV, and come closer to investigate. We certainly know that adding the UV sure didn't hurt.

MARINATE YOUR BAIT:: Marinate or inject your baits with Pro-Cure! The secret to attracting big fish is to put down more scent. Best scents for sturgeon are Smelt, Squid, Herring, Anchovy, Sardine, Sand (Ghost) Shrimp, Anise Crawfish, Crawfish, Shrimp, and Nightcrawler. Along with the legendary Sturgeon Cocktail, we now offer the awesome Sturgeon Frenzy liquid, plus BAIT OILS in Squid, Herring, Shrimp, Anchovy, Sardine.
SUPER GELS: During the San Francisco Bay herring spawn we were surprised to hear that many of the sturgeon anglers were clobbering fish using super gel. They were using cotton balls and small chunks of sponge impregnated with herring Super Gel. We've since tried this technique with other scents and it works. The sponge or cotton balls can be fished along with bait, or by themselves.
BAIT OILS: Bait can either be marinated in the Pro-Cure Bait Oils or injected after rigging, or both. Many anglers will start by marinating their baits in Pro-Cure oils, and after reeling in to check bait they inject their rigged baits again to continue to put off a heavy scent trail. Although a standard Bait Injector works great for herring, anchovies and smelt, for larger baits like shad a Magnum Bait Injector will put much more scent into a large bait.
HEAVY LIQUIDS: Sturgeon Cocktail has been a standby as a marinade, or it can be injected into baits. Heavy liquids are designed to sink to the bottoms, then break up and crawl along the bottom to attract bottom feeders. It works!
BAIT SAUCE: Mixing Bait Sauce 50/50 with corresponding bait oils really adds to your scent trail. Because Bait sauce is a combination of bait oils and real whole ground up fish. It not only leaves an oil trail, it also leaves a micro particle trail that maximizes your scent trail. And because the whole fish is water based we can dissolve powerful amino acids into bait sauce that we cannot put into the oils. For maximum results mix Sand Shrimp Oil with Bait Sauce, Anchovy oil with Anchovy Sauce, etc.

ANCHOVY:
Made from whole fresh ground anchovies our anchovy scent products are perfect to apply on live or dead anchovies. A 50 / 50 mix of PRO-CURE Anchovy Oil and PRO-CURE Bait Sauce is ideal for injecting into whole anchovies or other dead baits.
ANISE CRAWFISH:
In the summer months sturgeon actively feed on crawfish, and they love anise too. This is a great oil to inject or marinate into your baits.
CRAWFISH: Sturgeon feed on crawfish and this is the real deal. Made from whole ground up crawfish, use either the Gel or the Bait Sauce to enhance your baits.
HERRING:This is a super important scent when the herring are spawning in San Francisco Bay. Use the gel on cotton balls or sponge. Mix the oil with the sauce to inject or marinate into baits.
NIGHT CRAWLER: In some areas sturgeon will just not pass up a rigged night crawler. Enhance the scent trail with either the Super Gel or the Bait Sauce. If you fish crawlers, these scents are a must.
SAND SHRIMP (Ghost Shrimp): A sturgeon favorite. You can impregnate a cotton ball or small chunk of sponge with the Sand Shrimp Super Gel and fish it along with your rigged shrimp. Or you can mix our Sand Shrimp oil with Bait Sauce 50/50 and inject it into your shrimp.
SARDINE: This is one of our strongest scents, and is effective in Gel, oil and Bait Sauce. Sturgeon love it, and it can be used in conjunction with sardines as bait, but also works well with smelt, herring and anchovies.

SHRIMP / PRAWN: In some areas, shrimp is a popular sturgeon bait. We offer our shrimp scent in gel, oil and sauce. You can either marinate your shrimp in the oil / sauce combination, or inject rigged shrimp with the oil / sauce blend. Cotton balls and sponge work great impregnated with Shrimp Super Gel.
SMELT: A super popular bait on the Columbia River and its tributaries. We don't offer a Smelt oil, so we recommend impregnating a cotton ball or a small piece of sponge with our Smelt Super Gels and adding it to your rigged smelt bait. This works extremely well, and puts off a huge scent trail for almost an hour.
SQUID: A really popular sturgeon bait in the northwest. The gel can be used on a cotton ball or sponge. To marinate or inject your baits mix the Squid oil with the Squid Bait Sauce 50 /50. This blend can be injected into squid or baitfish with tremendous results.
STURGEON COCKTAIL: A heavy liquid that's a blend of ground up salmon eggs (a sturgeon favorite), fish oils and pure anise oil. Loaded with amino acids, this heavy liquid sinks like a rock and then crawls along the bottom to bring in fish from a long way off. It works!
STURGEON FRENZY: This custom sturgeon blend has rapidly become a guide favorite. Most inject it into rigged squid, anchovies or smelt with terrific results. Many guides have told us on the really tough days that adding the sturgeon frenzy saved their day.
